Whether you’re looking for a laid-back bachelorette weekend filled with beach lounging and hiking, or you’ve got the itch to try something new like parasailing before throwing on a sparkly dress and getting a little wild at a club, South Lake Tahoe has got you covered.

Enjoy outdoor recreation, trendy restaurants, relaxing spa experiences, and fun nightlife all while taking in unparalleled views of the largest alpine lake in North America and the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains.

Stay

There’s a reason the Coachman Hotel has been getting nods from the likes of Vogue and Sunset magazines. The Coachman’s modern-meets-mountain décor has visitors and locals alike frequenting the hotel for weekend getaways or pre-dinner drinks. Guests can also play corn hole, take a dip in the pool and hot tub, or cook s’mores over the fire pit. Pro tip: purchase a bottle of the Coachman’s custom Sauvignon Blanc to give as gifts to your bridesmaids.

Hotel Becket, a newly renovated boutique hotel, is just steps from Heavenly Village and offers bright, airy rooms with rustic touches. The hotel’s restaurant Ten Crows has also been making waves on the South Shore with its Alabama BBQ (think sweet tea fried chicken and grits) and selection of 40 whiskeys and bourbons.
EAT

For a classic steakhouse dinner, make reservations at Friday Station atop Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. In addition to making a mean martini, the restaurant offers gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe. For the best experience, plan your dinner around sunset.

For a relaxed atmosphere, head to Tahoe AleWorX. At this recently opened brewery, you can create your own woodfired pizza with over 30 fresh ingredients while enjoying the self-service brewery. Simply scan your wristband, which is embedded with a chip connected to a credit card, and you can sample the various local beers and wines on tap at your leisure.

In the mood for a margarita? Chimayo Street Grill adds a modern twist to classic Mexican street food (and has a killer happy hour). Ceviche Tostadas, Mahi Mahi Tacos, Burnt Ends Torta — the delicious crispy ends of a BBQ brisket — are just a handful of the favorites that keep people coming back for more.

Drink

Located in MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, Opal Ultra Lounge is where you go to get your dance on. Call ahead to reserve a table and VIP bottle service, and prepare for a wild night. Added bonus: free admission for ladies until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Not the club-going type of gal? Then how about a pub crawl? Hop aboard Off the Chain’s 15-passenger bike bus to explore Lake Tahoe’s best drinking establishments in style (while burning off all those tacos you hopefully ate at Chimayo).

What’s better than a magic show? A magic show with drinks in hand. The Loft in Heavenly Village is a great place to grab a few cocktails in the lounge before heading into the intimate venue for a captivating magic show, which you may just get to participate in.

Book a private wine-tasting tour with Tahoe Tasting aboard the Golden Rose. The 1953 wooden craft cruises through Emerald Bay while serving up samples of wines from Napa — but also wines grown and produced right in the Sierra Foothills in Placer, Amador and El Dorado counties.

Pamper

Every bachelorette weekend needs a little pampering. Try a two-hour pamper party at BioSpirit Day Spa, where you can combine treatments like a massage and facial or an exfoliating scrub and hydrating wrap. While you’re at it, enjoy a glass of champagne in the steam room.

After an evening of drinking, you are likely in need of a little rehydrating. Enter H2uP, a concierge IV hydration service that will come to your hotel room and refuel you and your bridesmaids with fluids and other ingredients to target symptoms like nausea or headaches. Just sit back and relax (while watching something fitting on Netflix like “Bridesmaids”) as a trained nurse administers your treatment. The treatment last under an hour, and leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. For an extra boost of energy, try a B12 shot.

No trip to Lake Tahoe would be complete without some time spent enjoying nature. For an all-skills-level hike, head to Van Sickle Bi-State Park, which is located conveniently behind Heavenly Village. Due to a steep incline, within 15 minutes you are above the tree line taking in epic views of the lake.

Enjoy a day out on the water (while also strengthening your core) on a standup paddleboard. South Tahoe Standup Paddle and SUP Tahoe both offer rentals, life jackets and tips for beginners.

Get a bird’s eye view of Lake Tahoe while you parasail across the waters with Zephyr Cove Resort. Either solo or tandem, experience the area while tethered to boat with a 1,000-foot rope.
